Sung Min is originally from South Korea, where he started his academic journey during his master's program at Yonsei University. It was there that he first got interested in studying the small nematode C. elegans. He was fascinated by the potential of using genetic model systems to understand genetic diseases. For his Ph.D., Sung Min sought further expertise under Dr. Michael Miller at UAB, where he focused on researching neurological disorders like ALS and SMA. After completing his Ph.D., Sung Min joined Marc Hammarlund's lab at Yale University, where he explored nerve system recovery in the face of neurological diseases or injuries. In 2018, Sung Min moved to Florida. Besides his passion for science, Sung Min cherishes his role as a loving father to two daughters. He enjoys cooking, visiting Disney World or St. Augustine's beach, watching football games, listening to KPOP music, and reading wuxia novels

My favorite way to pass the time in lab is to listen to True Crime podcasts or audiobooks. I also welcome a variety of background music. I love the British sci-fi show Doctor Who making me a Whovian. I also am an MFM Murderino and Morbid Weirdo. 

My fascination of horror and the macabre extend into literature with my all-time favorite the OG Edgar Allan Poe.

I left a small town in the panhandle of Florida for Gainesville, where I am a senior studying zoology with a minor in pathogenesis. Once I graduate, I hope to further contribute to research, first in an industrial setting but eventually in academia. I have one cat, Kevin, who is my best friend and the biggest goofball. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, cooking, and exploring nature.  

Originally from South Florida, I am a Psychology major with specialization in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. Taking care of my younger three brothers growing up, combined with my interest in science is my drive to becoming a physician one day. When I am not in lab, I love sharing my passions for STEM-related subjects with elementary schools in Alachua County and volunteering within UF's Pre-Health Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta. My hobbies include snorkeling, traveling, trying new foods, and going to the beach.

I'm a senior biology major with a minor in Chinese. I'm originally from Turkey and love backpacking around different countries! I also enjoy trying out recipes from different cuisines, watching fantasy and suspense movies, and lisening to history, science, and true crime podcasts. I recently became interested in birdwatching too.

I am a Biology major on the pre-med track with the aspirations of becoming a doctor one day. I have always had a love for math and science and love helping other students with subjects like chemistry and physics. During my free time, I like to go to the gym and create dance choreography with my friends.
